Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Bristol seeks an Electrical Engineer for a 15-month contract. Responsibilities include supporting layout engineering studies, resolving design issues, and reviewing deliverables. Candidates must hold a degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and have knowledge of nuclear power safety. The position offers a blend of onsite (3 days) and remote work (2 days optional), alongside a competitive salary based on experience and 20 days holiday plus bank holidays.

Job description
Activities to be carried out as part of the service :

Assistance to the team lead / discipline pilot in the technical coordination production and monitoring of layout engineering studies for one or more buildings on Electrical equipment. Electrical cable trays and other related items such as supports. Overall integration of electrical design into the dedicated buildings

Proposal of technical solutions to improve design maturity

Monitoring and resolution of design Open Points and design non-conformances in the specific discipline Reception of input data for the layout engineering of the building (Process & Instrumentation Diagrams equipment data cable list electrical load list etc.) analysis and verification of technical consistency.

Production and review of related technical documents (Layout Release Reports design changes CTS design packages)

Review and assessment of deliverables produced by electrical execution design such as drawings or 3D design packages

Support and follow up of execution design activities undertaken by MEH partners as per instructed by client

Support to resolve queries coming from site based design teams

Qualifications : Must have :
  • Bachelors / Masters degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering (or equivalent qualification).
  • Good knowledge of the general operation of a nuclear power station and the associated safety aspects (in particular aspects relating to flooding fire radiological protection high energy line ruptures).
  • Hands on experience in one or several areas of engineering : Electrical Layout electrical mechanical HVAC safety.
  • End to end knowledge and understanding of electrical & general layout rules for an industrial project.
  • Previous experience working with 3D design software.
Prefer to have :
  • Good knowledge of PDMS.
  • Navisworks software knowledge.

  • Long-term contract - 15 months
