About the role

As one of the EDI Managers, in this role, you will support the delivery of UCL’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) strategy, with a particular focus on leading the university’s approach to religion and belief. You’ll work across departments to manage key EDI projects, provide expert advice, and promote awareness and engagement with EDI priorities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the development of UCL’s religion and belief action plan and managing related issues
  • Providing strategic guidance and practical support on EDI initiatives across the institution
  • Designing and delivering large-scale EDI programmes and interventions
  • Conducting research, data analysis and reporting to inform evidence-based decision making
  • Writing and presenting papers to senior committees, including the UCL EDI Committee
  • Delivering training, workshops and presentations to staff and students
  • Supporting national equality charter submissions ( Race Equality Charter, Athena Swan)
  • Line managing EDI Officers and collaborating with UCL’s equality networks
  • Responding to complex and sensitive EDI issues across departments

This is a high-impact role for someone passionate about advancing inclusion, with strong project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Please note, this is an Accelerate to Leadership opportunity, available to eligible UCL staff only as a 12-month secondment placement. Eligible UCL staff will have until 02/09/ at 23:59pmto be considered for this role. The role is available on a hybrid basis, working in our Bidborough House office for a minimum of 2-days per week.

About you

You bring proven experience in equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), with a solid understanding of a broad range of EDI areas and topics, including specific expertise in religion and belief. You have a clear, practical grasp of the Equality Act , particularly in its application to religion and belief, and stay informed on wider sector developments and current debates.

You understand the complexity of driving meaningful culture change within large and complex institutions and can navigate this with insight and sensitivity. Naturally collaborative, you’re confident working with stakeholders at all levels, valuing the contributions and perspectives of others to shape inclusive, evidence-led approaches.
