Job description
The School and Role

We are looking for a full-time Learning Support Assistant on behalf of a small primary school in Newcastle. The successful Learning Support Assistant will be expected to deliver both general and one-to-one support, working as part of an established team, primarily in Early Years section of the school. The role would be Monday to Friday, 08.30am–3.30pm. This school operates within an ethos emphasising the creation of a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for all children. The school is ideally seeking a Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant who has experience working with young children with special educational needs and disabilities, however would be open to other qualifications and experience if relevant.

Requirements

The desired Learning Support Assistant will have;

  • Experience of working with Early Years Foundation Stage aged children
  • Experience of working 1:1, with pupils with SEND
  • Experience delivering small group interventions and support
  • A passion for ensuring the progress of pupils
  • A good ability to work as part of a team
  • Ideally Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, however candidates with other relevant qualifications/ experience are encouraged to apply
