DT Technician – Secondary

Salary Grade 3, NJC SCP 5-6 – Actual salary £18,988 p.a to £19,290 p.a pro rata.

Hours: 32 hours, 39‑week year.

Contract: Permanent. Start Date: As soon as possible.

About the Role

Outwood Academy Ripon is looking for experienced DT Technicians with strong interpersonal skills to support the Design & Technology (DT) department. You will work with the department team to create a safe, engaging educational environment and assist teachers with lesson preparation and practical lessons. You will also work with small groups of students, ensuring they have a positive attitude to learning and are equipped for success.

We expect you to be energetic, enthusiastic, inspirational and committed to working with young people in an educational setting. You should be highly organised, able to manage your time effectively and eager to contribute to the broader culture of success at our Academy.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the DT department in lesson preparation. • Assist with practical lessons when required. • Work with small groups of students to support teaching and learning. • Create a positive and supportive learning environment. • Contribute to the academic and personal success of students beyond the classroom.
