Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an outstanding Distribution Centre Manager to join and strengthen our highly experienced senior management team. As a Distribution Centre Manager you will have the autonomy and responsibility for the day-to-day site management of your depot. Additionally you’ll also have accountability for:

• Achieving all Depot objectives in terms of Health & Safety, security, productivity, transport and cost
• Deliver outstanding service to our customers with a team driven to be the best they can be
• Provide the safest and healthiest environment in which your teams work
• Encourage a competitive environment with clearly set productivity and service level targets for your teams
• Manage the Depot through P&L through effective planning and reporting

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage large, fast-paced, 24/7 operations with responsibility for daily throughput and a substantial workforce
• Ensure effective communication and leadership to drive performance and align with strategic goals
• Oversee health, safety, security, and compliance within the depot
• Monitor and improve productivity, service levels, and cost efficiency
• Provide reports on performance, planning, and financials (P&L) to senior leaders

Qualifications

• Experience in logistics or distribution with large, 24/7 operations; daily throughput of 25,000+ and workforce over 250
• Confident communicator/presenter capable of leading and managing teams, influencing strategy, and liaising with Directors
• Decisive and effective decision-making in time-pressured environments
• Passion for building and motivating high-performing teams
• Strong problem-solving skills with resilience, self-motivation, and flexibility
• Demonstrate the core DPD DNA values of Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility, Hard Work and Accountability
• Ability to work across all shifts in a 365-day operation; may require weekend work
• Full UK driving licence
