Design Manager Required on Permanent Basis in Birmingham for a Main Contractor

I am assisting my client with an exciting opportunity for a Design Manager to join a leading main contractor. The business undertakes projects in various sectors including Commercial, Refurbs, Cut and Carves with values ranging between £10m and £30m.

As Design Manager you will be responsible for managing projects to ensure their safe completion, in accordance with programme, specification, and budget.

Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 + Package.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee design processes during pre‑construction and, when necessary, construction phases.
• Analyse and interpret Employer's Requirements documents.
• Collaborate with internal teams to develop comprehensive Contractor's Proposals.
• Coordinate and supervise external design consultants.
• Implement innovative and cost‑effective design solutions.
• Ensure timely delivery of design information and resolve issues within strict deadlines.
• Participate in tender launches, adjudications, and project initiation meetings as needed.
