Job description

As St Leonard's Hospice embarks on a major project to expand its retail operation at Clifton Moor, we're recruiting a Deputy Shop Manager to work in the furniture and £1 clearance shop to assist in the day-to-day running of it, delivering an efficient, organised and customer focussed operation to maximise income for the Hospice. Every interaction with our customers, whether that be through purchases or donations will help us to continue to provide care and support to local people with life limiting illnesses. Once the furniture and £1 clearance shop is set up, your main responsibilities as Deputy Shop Manager will be to:

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Shop Manager in maximising store sales, profits and meet KPIs and in their absence, take responsibility of the day to day running of the shop
  • Provide a high level of customer service to donors and customers of the shop and uphold the Hospice values and Retail Service principles
  • Provide line management support to the shop team which will consist of paid staff and volunteers

  • Experience of working in the retail sector
  • Proven interpersonal skills and be able to work with and motivate a team of paid staff and volunteers

Working Hours

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, 5 days over 7 which will include weekend working on a rotational basis.
