Overview

Job Title: Deputy Programme Leader (Maths & English)

Salary: 28,892 per annum (plus temporary market supplement of 1,450 per annum)

Location: Chatham

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time (40 hours per week, 08:30-16:30, Monday-Friday)

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Deputy Programme Leader to join our education team at Nacro. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in improving the lives and chances of young people who have experienced barriers to education.

Role Responsibilities
  • Act as part of the centre management team, deputising for the Programme Leader.
  • Line manage a small team of teaching staff, specifically English & Maths specialists.
  • Deliver approximately 12 hours per week of teaching and support sessions.
  • Ensure high-quality delivery of Maths & English qualifications, raising standards across the centre.
  • Develop and maintain a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
  • Monitor and track student progress and outcomes, ensuring continual improvement.
  • Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead within the centre.
  • Work with employers and community partners to enhance learning opportunities.
Essential Requirements
  • GCSE (Grade C/4 or above) in English and Maths, or equivalent.
  • Level 3 AET (Award in Education and Training) or equivalent teaching/learning qualification.
  • Knowledge and experience of education quality frameworks and regulatory practices.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills.
  • Passion for supporting young people to overcome barriers and achieve success.
Desirable
  • Experience delivering Maths and English qualifications.
  • Experience monitoring quality of education and/or managing teaching staff.
