Deputy Nursery Manager
Location: Kingston Upon Thames
Hours: 07:30 - 18:00 (38 hours per week) - Full-time, Permanent (4 days per week)
Academics are seeking a dedicated Deputy Nursery Manager to support the Nursery Manager/Lead Nursery Teacher in the smooth day-to-day running of our preschool. As Deputy Nursery Manager, you will also act as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), provide leadership and management support to staff.
Assist with the overall management of the nursery, including staff supervision, curriculum planning, and daily operations.
Take full responsibility for the setting in the absence of the Nursery Manager.
Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), ensuring safeguarding procedures meet statutory requirements.
Promote professional growth through staff mentoring, training, and performance reviews.
Deliver and monitor a stimulating EYFS curriculum tailored to the needs of 3-year-olds.
Champion a child-centred approach that fosters curiosity, creativity, and independence.
Maintain accurate records of children\'s development, attendance, and safeguarding concerns, including the use of an online journal system to communicate with parents and carers.
Proven experience in an early years setting, specifically with 3-year-olds.
Level 3 (or higher) Early Years or equivalent qualification.
Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and best practices in early childhood education.
Experience in leadership or supervisory roles within early years is desirable.
