Your Role

As Deputy Manager, you'll support the Nursery Manager in leading the team and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the nursery. You’ll step up in their absence, mentor staff, and maintain the highest standards of care, education, and safeguarding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the leadership and supervision of a strong, motivated team
  • Support with planning, observations, and assessments under the EYFS
  • Ensure children’s safety, well-being, and emotional development
  • Build positive relationships with parents, staff, and external agencies
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Ofsted requirements
  • Lead by example and promote a positive, professional working environment
What We’re Looking For
  • Minimum Level 3 Early Years Qualification (or higher)
  • At least 2 years' experience in a nursery setting
  • Strong understanding of EYFS, safeguarding & health and safety
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisation skills
  • Friendly, flexible, and enthusiastic approach
  • Paediatric First Aid qualified (or willing to complete)
  • Desirable:
    • Previous Deputy Manager or Room Leader experience
    • Experience with online learning journals (e.g., Tapestry)
