Qualifications

  • Must have 2 years’ experience in a senior role within a residential children’s home.
  • Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding practices is essential.
  • Full UK Driving Licence required for staff support and transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Home Manager with daily operational leadership.
  • Lead and mentor the staff team, modelling best practices.
  • Support young people aged 8-18 to feel safe and valued.
  • Help maintain a therapeutic, structured environment.
  • Take responsibility during the Manager’s absence.

About the Role

Support the Home Manager with daily operational leadership.

Lead and mentor the staff team, modelling best practice.

Support with rotas, staffing, recording and Ofsted compliance.

Take responsibility during the Manager’s absence.

Requirements
  • 2 years’ experience in a residential children’s home (Senior or Deputy)
  • Level 3 or 4 Children & Young People qualification
  • Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding
  • Experience with staffing, rotas and basic budgeting
  • Motivated, proactive and confident in leading a team
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Flexible to work long day shifts and sleep‑ins
