A leading international media company in London is seeking an Editorial Writer to write and edit content for their flagship magazine. This role includes managing specific pages and is hybrid, requiring three days in the office and two days working from home. Candidates should have strong writing and editing skills, good news judgement, and a distinct editorial voice.
The Week is one of Britain's leading news weeklies, it takes the best of the British and international news, comment, and arts coverage, and distils it into just 35 succinct editorial pages, helping readers to stay informed about events and form their own opinions on the latest issues.
Reporting to the Editor, you'll help write and edit our flagship UK print magazine brand. You'll have ownership of certain pages and sections of the magazine, which are likely to include international news coverage.
You'll also assist with all stages of the editorial process, from selecting topics - based on your reading of the daily and weekend newspapers - to reading final page proofs. This will include writing copy, editing copy produced by other writers, approving pictures, contributing ideas at the editorial and cover meeting and approving and improving headlines and captions.
The expected range for this role is £33,000 - £80,000.
