Job summary

A leading UK transport company seeks an Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of their Burton depot. The role involves ensuring compliance and efficiency while leading a team across multiple functions. Candidates should have supervisory experience in the transport sector, excellent leadership skills, and a focus on customer satisfaction. A Managers CPC in Passenger Transport is desirable. This role may require flexibility across anti-social hours.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a supervisory or management role ideally within the bus, coach, or wider transport sector.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate, support, and develop teams.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with a focus on efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Good IT and reporting skills.
• Managers CPC in Passenger Transport (National/International) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage depot operations, ensuring punctual, reliable, and safe services.
• Monitor driver performance, compliance with regulations, and adherence to company policies.
• Manage scheduling, rostering, and resource allocation to optimise service delivery.
• Support and develop front-line supervisors and drivers.
• Ensure compliance with transport legislation, including DVSA and local authority requirements.
• Analyse performance data to drive continuous improvement.
• Manage budgets, cost control, and operational KPIs.
