Overview

Depot Maintenance Technician Vacancy Salary £36,251 / £2,000.00 Location allowance Vacancy Location Coop Distribution Thurrock. This is a Permanent vacancy that will close in a month at 23:59 BST.

Job Purpose

To maintain and repair a range of electrical and mechanical plant and equipment in Distribution Centres as defined on the “Scope of Works Task Sheets” in an efficient and cost-effective manner, whilst complying with the laid-down Company Health and Safety policy.

Responsibilities
  • Complete the PPM schedule within agreed KPI timescales and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and to the laid-down procedures.
  • Respond promptly to service call requests from the Service Desk; assess the requirements of the job and carry out repairs as and where necessary.
  • Prioritise maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times.
  • Order spares to the laid-down procedures.
  • Identify non-repairable faults in plant and machinery and promptly advise the Lead Engineer or Engineering Manager with recommendations regarding suitable replacement.
  • Where plant and equipment is non-repairable, make recommendations to the Lead Engineer or Engineering Manager regarding suitable replacement.
  • Advise the GM and distribution line managers of any repair and maintenance issues likely to affect the smooth running of the depot.
  • Assist the Site Delivery Manager in managing and controlling depot third party alliance contractors and ensure service inspection paperwork is correctly filed on site.
  • Carry out surveys and complete reports as required by the Lead Engineer or Engineering Manager.
  • Carry out minor alterations and installations in accordance with current specifications; perform all relevant testing and inspection with full company certification.
  • Complete general repairs and maintenance to Co-op Distribution sites as designated by the Lead Engineer or Engineering Manager (e.g., general building repairs).
  • Assist City colleagues in other areas when requested by the Lead Engineer or Engineering Manager.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment required to complete maintenance and repairs are used correctly, available, and serviceable at all times.
  • Liaise with project teams on site alterations, modernisations and other relevant works.
  • Maintain accurate Time Sheets as required.
  • Carry out tasks in accordance with specific KPI’s.
  • Attend training courses as necessary to ensure personal job skills keep pace with technical developments.
  • Comply with the company Health and Safety Policy at all times.
  • Work with company and Co-op colleagues to maintain laid-down standards of quality.
  • Comply with reasonable requests or instructions from the Lead Engineer or Engineering Manager.
  • Represent the company professionally and develop good working relationships with City and Co-op colleagues.
  • Ensure costs are approved following the correct process.
