Smiths has grown from a single owner-operated plant hire company to a multifaceted group with family values still firmly at the heart of each project undertaken. With depots in Avonmouth, Cardiff, Gloucester, Stonehouse and Tewkesbury we operate predominately across the South-West of England. We specialise in Construction, Waste Management, Plant Hire, Demolition and Transport operations.

Your role :

The Demolition Manager assumes overall responsibility for overseeing and managing all aspects of Demolition projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget. This role includes planning, coordinating resources, supervising teams, managing subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with Health and Safety legislation.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the operations, strategy, and performance of the Demolition division to include Demolition, Laser Levelling, Asbestos Removal and Drainage.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
  • Develop and implement operational plans, KPIs, and performance targets.
  • Lead and mentor division staff, including Contract managers and Estimators.
  • Analyse market trends to drive business growth and innovation.
  • Prepare and manage divisional budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimise performance and communication.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Identify risks and opportunities, proactively solving problems as they arise.
