The Company

Our client is a growing and well-established technology services business delivering data, networking and security solutions to organisations across a variety of sectors. They focus on providing reliable, high-quality installations and ongoing technical support, working closely with customers to ensure robust and scalable infrastructure solutions.

The Job

Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a Data Network Cabling & CCTV Engineer to join their engineering team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Reporting to the Service Desk Manager

You will be responsible for the physical installation, maintenance and repair of structured cabling systems for data, telecoms and AV networks. The role will also involve the installation and maintenance of CCTV and Wi‑Fi systems, requiring some experience within security systems environments.

This is a hands‑on role offering variety, working across different sites and environments, and would suit an engineer with strong cabling experience and a practical, methodical approach.

Responsibilities
  • Pulling, routing and securing structured cabling including Cat5e, Cat6, copper and fibre
  • Installing containment systems such as cable trays, trunking and conduits
  • Building, configuring and organising network and comms cabinets
  • Terminating cables into patch panels and network equipment
  • Testing cabling installations to ensure performance and compliance
  • Installing network equipment including routers, switches and WAN equipment
  • Installation, configuration and maintenance of CCTV systems
  • Supporting Wi‑Fi and related infrastructure installations
  • Troubleshooting faults, repairing issues and upgrading systems
  • Providing technical support where required
  • Assisting with site surveys, project planning and cable pathway design
  • Working closely with the Health & Safety Manager to ensure adherence to all H&S guidelines
The Person

For this opportunity, it is essential that you have experience installing structured data and networking cabling. Experience with CCTV systems is also required.

Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Cat5, Cat6, copper and fibre optic cabling
  • Experience installing data and networking cables
  • Experience installing CCTV systems
  • Ability to modify and route patch cables within comms cabinets
  • Proficiency using cabling test tools and installation equipment
  • Knowledge of network interface cards, switches and routers
  • Understanding of basic network topologies and equipment
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows
  • Experience installing and configuring Microsoft Windows operating systems
  • Understanding of Microsoft products
  • Experience installing both local and network printers
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in a range of environments
Salary

26,500 – 30,000 per annum.

Hours

Monday – Friday, 9am – 5.30pm.

Location

Bristol (Hybrid working – 3 days in the office).
