Job description
Overview

We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated, innovative and experienced nurse to join our team. We are a small team of nurses who work together to ensure the health of children in care, including those looked after by Cheshire West local authority or living within our area from other parts of the UK.

Responsibilities
  • Work flexibly between 8:30 am and 6 pm, supporting children in care (16 years and over) and unaccompanied asylum‑seeking children.
  • Conduct holistic health assessments and make referrals or recommendations suitable to each young person’s needs.
  • Visit children at home, school, face‑to‑face or virtually, often lone working.
  • Travel between service users and other services across the Cheshire West and Chester footprint; access to transport is essential.
  • Liaise closely with the Supporting Independence Team, dedicating 1 day per week to collaborate.
  • Support the Children in Care team to provide a safe and effective health service.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree in specialist community public health nursing or equivalent recognised qualification with appropriate registrations.
  • Experience working with children in care and with unaccompanied asylum‑seeking children.
  • Interest in working with young people 16 years and over.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary environments.
  • Ability to work autonomously with appropriate supervision.
Working Conditions

Work includes both office and travel. Access to suitable transport is required.
