Job description

Nelson Permanent Placements are recruiting a customer Service Advisor on behalf of a global LED lighting manufacturer offering bespoke lighting solutions. The company supplies a wide range of LED products for commercial, industrial, education, healthcare, and public‑sector environments, focusing on quality, innovation, and sustainable lighting.

The key responsibilities of this role as a Customer Service Advisor :

  • Process sales orders accurately using the in‑house system.
  • Prepare commercial invoices and arrange transport for Ireland and international shipments.
  • Handle inbound calls from wholesalers, contractors, end users, and external sales staff, providing information on stock, pricing, product details, ETAs, and general enquiries.
  • Support with customer escalations and help resolve issues promptly.
  • Communicate daily with Production and Warehouse teams regarding stock levels and dispatch of goods.
  • Liaise with the Technical team to obtain product information and assist with technical queries.
  • Work closely with a dedicated BDM and build strong working relationships across the business.
  • Assist the Accounts team with customer account queries and returns.
  • Support the Project Team with quotations when required.
  • Provide updates and reports to the Customer Service Manager.
Qualifications and skills of a Customer Service Advisor
  • Proven experience in a customer service or administrative role, ideally within a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to work independently with a proactive, flexible, “can‑do” attitude.
  • Reliable team player who supports colleagues and contributes positively to the department.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially over the telephone.
  • Strong relationship‑building skills across customers, sales teams, and internal departments.
  • Good planning, organisation, and time‑management abilities.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office and database systems; experience with Oracle NetSuite is an advantage.
  • Able to remain resilient and professional when handling challenging situations or customer issues.
  • Quick thinker who can offer suitable product alternatives when required.
