A national mental health charity is seeking a Crisis Recovery Worker in Tunbridge Wells to deliver high-quality, recovery-focused services to clients with mental health needs. The role involves one-to-one client engagement, administrative tasks, and collaboration with various agencies to provide crisis support. Applicants should have experience in mental health settings, excellent motivational skills, and a full driving license. The position is part-time with a salary of £6,922.24 per year.
As a Crisis Recovery Worker, you will provide a high‑quality, recovery‑focused service to clients with a range of mental health and autistic traits, as well as learning disabilities, physical health issues and substance misuse. You will promote independence and social inclusion, support clients out of crisis, and work closely with Peer Support Workers and Clinicians to achieve person‑centred care.
• One‑to‑one engagement and facilitation of activities within the service and the community.
• Administrative tasks, sign‑posting and engaging people in other provision.
• Working with mental health primary and secondary care, emergency services and partner agencies.
• Providing support to reduce immediate distress for those at risk of self‑harm, suicide or trauma.
• Maintaining safety planning and information for clients, families and carers.
Mental Health Matters (MHM) is a national charity with over 35 years of experience in delivering high‑quality mental health and social care services across England. Tunbridge Wells Service provides a crisis alternative to A&E through non‑clinical, person‑centred support and recovery interventions.
Job Title: Crisis Recovery Worker
Hours of work: 10 hours per week
Service opening hours: 6 p.m. – 11 p.m., Monday to Sunday, 365 days a year
Salary: £6,922.24 (£25,958 with progression up to £28,662 per annum FTE)
You will have experience working in community‑based mental health settings, be able to inspire, engage and motivate people, identify barriers, understand needs and support clients to achieve their goals. Excellent motivational and interpersonal skills are essential. A full driving licence and access to transport are required.
