Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Crisis House Manager to join our new 24/7/365 mental health service in Gleadless and Heeley, Sheffield. The role will deliver non‑clinical mental health services to prevent attendance at A&E, supporting people discharged from hospital who are not yet ready to go home. You will provide leadership and management to a team delivering high‑quality, safe and effective crisis services in line with the organisation's mission, values and strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the crisis house team, ensuring safe, high‑quality, and effective care 24/7.
  • Develop and maintain constructive relationships with commissioners, colleagues, stakeholders, partners and providers.
  • Attend relevant internal and external meetings to keep services aligned with national guidance and local partnership priorities.
  • Manage the service delivery, including negotiating, planning, communicating, reporting, and troubleshooting to meet agreed targets.
  • Ensure the team is responsive to the needs of people in crisis and that services meet statutory and internally set quality standards.
  • Represent the service in external forums and liaise with local authorities, health agencies and voluntary organisations.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement through data analysis, review of outcomes, and staff development.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Diploma or NVQ Level 4 in Management or equivalent (or willingness to achieve within a set period).
  • Experience of all aspects of colleague management and workforce development.
  • Demonstrated experience of management, including project, service and operational management.
  • Experience of managing and delivering to agreed budgets.
  • Experience of performance management and appraisal processes.
  • Experience of setting and delivering to agreed targets.
  • Experience of recruitment and staff engagement.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence across multiple professional groups.
  • Knowledge of NHS mental health services and experience of working in a crisis or acute mental health setting.
Salary & Hours

Salary: £38,397 per annum, with progression to £42,723. Hours: 37.5 hours per week, including evenings, weekends and some nights.
