Job Type: Permanent

We are looking for an experienced Crane Field Service Engineers to join our team. This role involves servicing, maintaining, and repairing cranes, hoists, and lifting equipment at various customer sites across the UK. The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical and mechanical background, with experience in fault-finding, diagnostics, and compliance with LOLER and PUWER regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out servicing, inspections, and repairs on cranes, hoists, and lifting equipment.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical fault finding and troubleshooting on crane control systems, motors, and gearboxes.
  • Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and emergency breakdown repairs.
  • Work with VFDs, PLCs, and remote-control systems to diagnose faults and ensure smooth crane operation.
  • Ensure compliance with LOLER, PUWER, and other relevant safety regulations.
  • Provide customers with detailed service reports and recommendations for any remedial work.
  • Assist with new crane installations, commissioning, and modifications where required.
  • Work independently or as part of a team in industrial and manufacturing environments.
  • Maintain high levels of health and safety and follow company procedures.
  • Travel across the UK to customer sites, with occasional overnight stays as required.
Qualifications
  • Electrical or mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in servicing overhead gantry cranes, hoists, or similar lifting equipment.
  • Strong electrical fault-finding skills, including experience with VFDs, PLCs, and control systems.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and mechanical crane components.
  • Valid UK driving licence (essential).
  • LOLER & PUWER knowledge and experience.
  • IPAF, CSCS, or similar industry certifications (desirable).
  • Ability to work at heights and in industrial environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and customer-facing abilities.
