Job Title: Cover Supervisor - General Science Specialist

Location: Warwickshire

Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / Flexible Supply

Salary: £1 - £135.50 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Start Date: September 2025 or ASAP

Link3 Recruitment are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Cover Supervisor with a passion for all Science subjectsto work across a network of secondary schools in Warwickshire.

We are particularly interested in individuals who have a strong academic background in General Science and a genuine enthusiasm for the subject. The ideal candidate will be confident in delivering pre-set Science lessons and engaging students across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics content. A true advocate for scientific learning, you will inspire curiosity and critical thinking in the classroom through structured support and clear communication of scientific concepts.

Your ability to maintain a focused and productive learning environment, while ensuring high standards of behaviour and participation, will be key during teacher absences. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking classroom experience—especially those considering a future in teaching or wishing to support instruction without taking on full planning and preparation responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise lessons across the curriculum in the absence of the regular class teacher, demonstrating strong classroom management and the ability to keep students engaged
  • Maintain a positive learning environment and manage classroom behaviour effectively
  • Deliver pre-set English lessons while upholding high standards of behaviour and encouraging active participation
  • Support students with their learning and encourage engagement
  • Provide clear and constructive feedback to teaching staff on lesson outcomes and student engagement
  • Promote literacy and a love for Science through enthusiastic lesson delivery and academic support
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Strong knowledge and passion for science (Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics)
  • Have some understanding across all Key Stages up to GCSE's and A'Levels
  • Previous experience working with young people (e.g., in education, youth work, or tutoring)
  • Confident classroom presence and the ability to manage behaviour effectively
  • Flexible, adaptable, and committed to supporting students' learning
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) and eligibility to work in the UK
