Location: London Borough of Sutton

Hours: 36 hours per week

Start Date: 02/02/2026

Working Pattern: 09:00–17:00

About the Client

London Borough of Sutton’s Resources Directorate provides essential financial and administrative support across Adult Social Care. This temporary Court of Protection role sits within the ASC Finance Hub and supports a focused project requiring accurate case handling, strong financial oversight, and effective collaboration with internal stakeholders.

The Role

The Court of Protection Finance Officer will manage and progress complex financial cases within Adult Social Care, ensuring accurate handling of COP funding, property‑related matters, and appointeeship cases. You will support the review of extended 12‑week disregard cases, initiate revised interim funding arrangements, and work closely with internal teams to resolve disputed cases. The role also provides administrative support to the ASC Collections Team where required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and progress Court of Protection cases within Adult Social Care.
  • Review cases where 12‑week disregards have extended beyond the initial period.
  • Initiate revised interim funding arrangements for COP and property‑related cases.
  • Work collaboratively with Brokerage, Processing, and Financial Assessment Teams on disputed cases.
  • Prioritise appointeeship cases with savings exceeding £50,000 and initiate deputyship applications.
  • Provide administrative support to the ASC Collections Team.
  • Undertake additional duties as directed by the ASC Finance Hub Manager.
  • Liaise effectively with key stakeholders including LBS Lawyers, ASC Teams, and Finance Hub colleagues.
Candidate Requirements
  • Experience in financial administration, case management, or Court of Protection‑related work.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage sensitive and complex cases.
  • Confident communicator able to work collaboratively across multiple teams.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of Adult Social Care processes is desirable.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK and ability to provide required compliance documentation.
  • Awareness of the mandatory 4‑week notice period in line with DfE regulations.
