  • Maintain site control systems to minimize breakdown times.
  • Provide expertise for complex control system troubleshooting.
  • Lead maintenance projects and support electrical engineering projects.
  • Identify and implement control system improvements.
  • Supervise, mentor, and coach technicians and engineers.

Job description

I am excited to partner with a leading manufacturer in Fort William who have an immediate vacancy for a Controls & Automation Engineer to join their team at their site. The successful Controls & Automation Engineer will lead a small team responsible for all planned and reactive maintenance on site. This is a fantastic opportunity for an electrically biased engineer to join a long established company located in the heart of the UK’s outdoor capital with hundreds of things to do for an outdoor enthusiast. The company offer an attractive relocation package worth up to £8K and will pay your first 3 months rent along with a signing up bonus equivalent to 1 month’s salary.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain site control systems to minimise breakdown times and ensure efficient recovery after system failures.
  • Provide control systems expertise to lead complex control system process troubleshooting.
  • Lead site control system maintenance projects and support site electrical engineering capital projects.
  • Identify, implement and develop control system and equipment improvements to support operations.
  • Supervise, mentor and coach technicians and engineers.
Requirements
  • The successful candidate will ideally hold a HND qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Electrical and Instrumentation knowledge.
  • PLC, HMI and SCADA experience.
  • PLC programming skills.

  • Day shift Monday to Friday (7.30am – 4.30pm Monday – Thursday with a 12.30pm finish on a Friday).
  • Responsibility payment of £3,150 for providing 24-hour engineering support.
