The Role

The Contracts & Governance Lead is responsible for completing group contract reviews covering all aspects of risk, liability, bonds, liens etc and liaising with Bilfinger UK contracts & legal team to ensure compliance with company contractual minimum and risk classification requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Contracts:

  • Responsible for presenting and explaining the contract position during internal bid review and sign off meetings.
  • Liaise with customers as required during contract clarifications and negotiations phases of the sales cycle.
  • Develop, maintain and continuously improve standard contract positions with ongoing clients in accordance with company requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and concise records to ensure clarity and traceability.

Governance:

  • Responsible for managing nZero Group proposal governance process, liaising with relevant stakeholders to generate governance packs ensuring compliance with company requirements for bid approval and sign off.
  • Responsible for ensuring governance packs are completed by the relevant stakeholders, reviewed in readiness for bid review and sign off meetings.

General:

  • Liaise with Bilfinger contract and legal team and management as required.
  • Liaise with all nZero Group departments as required.
  • Act as primary point of contact and subject matter expert within the nZero Group for contracts and governance.
  • Responsible for the management of contract and governance documentation within the quote folder structure and Salesforce crm system, ensuring visibility of contract status, risks, deviations and response timelines.
  • Prepare management reports and sales facing reports as required to highlight contract risks, trends, delays and improvement opportunities.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures and employee code of conduct.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a contracts based role working within a deadline driven environment.
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of construction, services and general supply contracts including: NEC, Yellow Book, Red Book, other standard contract types and bespoke client contracts.
  • Excellent understanding of contract legal terminology and how these relate to associated risks and liabilities.
  • Experience of completing detailed contract reviews and marking up of contracts/deviation logs to mitigate and remove risk and liabilities etc for presentation internally and to clients.
  • Strong commercial judgement with the ability to understand the balance between risk and revenue.
  • Ability to communicate clearly to explain contract risk, liabilities and mitigation to decision makers.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively across all levels of Bilfinger and client business structures.
  • Ability to lead/support client contract negotiations either remotely or part of in person meetings.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Excellent prioritisation and management of workload to meet deadlines.
  • Experienced and competent with the MS suite of applications inc. MS Teams.
  • Excellent telephone manner.
  • Full, driving licence and own transport.
  • Experience of working in a sales driven environment.
  • Degree level qualification in a role related subject.
