Job description

Are you a Civil Engineer looking for a contract role outside IR35? This opportunity is with a trusted consultancy who are looking for a Contract Civil Engineer to join their Birmingham team. This is due to their increased work load and plans to expand the team.

The role:

  • Developing highway designs in accordance with the DMRB using AutoCAD or Civils 3D.
  • Production of technical reports as required.
  • Management of work packages with scope to move up to managing small schemes.
  • Client liaison as necessary to deliver the schemes/projects.
  • Undertaking services within an engineering environment which may include (but not limited to); scheme investigation, site inspections, data collection and analysis, works/construction inspections and supervision to progress scheme design, development and construction.

What you need to succeed:

  • Relevant degree (ideally an accredited Masters Degree with ICE in Civil or equivalent Level 6 qualification
  • Ideally Chartered or Incorporated with relevant professional body or working towards Chartership
  • Ideally a minimum of 4 years post graduate experience
  • Competent in relevant drawing, modelling and experienced in the application of relevant design software
  • Strong technical knowledge of relevant legislation and standards
  • Good commercial awareness and project management skills and experience
  • Manage continuous professional development and stay updated on legislation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with excellent written and verbal communication skills
