A prominent healthcare organization in Chorley seeks a colleague to develop its diabetes and endocrine services. The role includes responsibilities across multiple specialties, emphasizing team collaboration and patient care. Opportunities to engage with various departments are available, maintaining high standards of clinical governance and professional development.
We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague who will help to develop the local diabetes and endocrine service. The clinical duties are mainly based at Chorley with some clinics on the Preston site as needed.
We have very well-established links with the Primary Care Networks. The post-holder will be involved in developing the diabetes foot service and will also be involved in other sub-specialty clinics of their choice, as well as general diabetes and endocrine clinics.
The successful applicant will have opportunities to develop other interests within diabetes and endocrinology. To facilitate this, we have strong links with paediatrics, vascular, podiatry, orthopaedics, orthotics, obstetrics, gynaecology, clinical biochemistry, renal and neurosurgical departments within the Trust.
The post-holder will be responsible for general medical, diabetes and endocrine inpatients admitted to Brindle Ward, on a rotational basis. This is supported by Foundation, GP and Internal Medical Trainees, as well as Specialty Trainees in diabetes/endocrinology.
There is a provisional plan to move to seven-day consultant cover on the ward. The post-holder will also provide input into the General Medicine On call service.
The unit offers a wide range of specialist diabetes and endocrine services. There is a strong team- based focus with dedicated Diabetes Specialist Team members working between primary and secondary care.
We have a dedicated endocrine specialist nurse, and a full range of dynamic endocrine tests are performed in our investigation unit. There are close links with the paediatrics, vascular, podiatry, obstetrics, gynaecology, renal and neurosurgical departments.
We are committed to promoting equality of opportunity, celebrating and valuing diversity and eliminating any form of unlawful discrimination across our workforce, ensuring our people are truly representative of the communities we serve.
