Job description
Overview

We are pleased to offer the substantive appointment of a Consultant Physician, with a special interest in Medicine for the Elderly, at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. This position will be based at Barnet General Hospital. If appointed, you will join a committed team of consultants in a well-developed and respected service, with a supportive and forward-thinking culture.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Enhanced Care Unit, the acute medical ward and the AAU hub (through which run the acute medical take and SDEC pathways).
  • Support the Acute medical team in other areas of service delivery, as opportunities arise.
  • In the AAU, contribute to running the fast-turnaround bed base and provide an adjoining same-day/same-week hot clinic.
  • Contribute to running the virtual ward service, an expanding development for patients at the hospital.
  • Be on the acute integrated medical on-call rota, supporting weekend and out-of-hours provision on a 1:8 rota.
