Construction Lecturer – Apprenticeships

Based across campuses in South East London

Part-time, 18.5 hours per week (0.5 FTE)

Salary: Spine point 25–34

Are you passionate about shaping the next generation of construction professionals? We’re looking for a Construction Lecturer to join our Apprenticeships team, delivering high-quality teaching and assessment to learners on the Property Maintenance Operative and Carpentry & Joinery standards

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact, inspiring apprentices to build both their technical skills and their confidence as they prepare for their End Point Assessments.

Responsibilities
  • Delivering engaging lessons and workshops across construction knowledge, skills, and behaviours
  • Supporting apprentices with their learning journey and preparing them for assessment
  • Tracking and monitoring learner progress to ensure milestones are met on time
  • Developing schemes of work, lesson plans, and course materials
  • Contributing to curriculum development and course coordination
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues, employers, and apprenticeship coaches to ensure outstanding learner outcomes
Qualifications
  • Industry qualifications to Level 3 (essential)
  • Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
  • Assessor qualification (desirable)
  • Strong industry experience within construction trades
  • Clear communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and motivate learners
  • Good administrative skills for accurate student record keeping
  • Flexibility and enthusiasm for working in a dynamic and evolving education environment
