Job description

Contract: Permanent Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 8:30am - 5:00pm

What does the day-to-day look like for this role?

Responsible for maintaining and improving the current accreditation status of Cranswick Continental. You will proactively prepare for all customer and external visits (announced and unannounced) by ensuring key aspects are reviewed in a team forum to ensure focus and action are taken. You will complete gap analysis of new codes of practice and implement the changes through procedures and risk assessments. You will work closely with internal auditors and drive down non-conformances. This role requires spending a minimum of 70% of your time in the factory.

Role Duties

  • Run the internal audits program, engage relevant staff and personnel in advance, and prepare to ensure the maximum benefit is achieved from the internal audits. Effectively communicate the outcomes and close out any non-conformances.
  • Prepare for planned customer visits, review historical actions, and arrange preparation meetings to ensure the purpose and expectations of the visits are effectively communicated to all areas.
  • Prepare for unannounced audits based on previous audit dates. Review historical actions and arrange scheduled review meetings to ensure the purpose and expectations of the audits are effectively communicated to all areas.
  • Review new customer codes of practice, complete a GAP analysis, and make necessary procedural changes to ensure compliance.
  • Participate in the HACCP team, assist in reviewing and implementing new and existing HACCP studies.
  • Have detailed knowledge of departmental working procedures and specifications.
  • Conduct internal assessments of procedures and audits.
  • Effectively communicate the outcome of these audits.
  • Challenge training, frequencies, and competencies to ensure all staff are trained effectively, within a reasonable time, and reviewed within the agreed period.
  • Carry out monthly non-conformance reviews to identify trends and implement additional preventative measures as needed.
  • Perform process audits for all new product launches to ensure products meet specifications and machinery controlling CCPs & weight control are programmed accordingly. Validate all QAS documents before handover to the factory.
