Job Overview

The Healthcare Assistant (HCA) is responsible for delivering person-centered care directly in people’s homes working under the supervision of Registered Nurses (RGNs). This role will be vital in helping people live safely, independently and with dignity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal and clinical care, including respiratory support (oxygen therapy, suctioning, tracheostomy care, CPAP/BiPAP).
  • Deliver feeding support (NGT/PEG/gastronomy, pump feeding).
  • Support with catheter and stoma care, toileting, continence needs.
  • Promote safe mobility, skin integrity and pressure area care.
  • Work collaboratively with nurses and wider health professionals.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • One year of previous experience in healthcare settings, in community or home-based care supporting people with complex physical healthcare needs.
  • Experience supporting people with long-term or life-limiting conditions.
  • Good understanding of personal care, mobility support and infection control practices.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of multidisciplinary team.
  • Driving Licence is essential for community work and transport of the people we support.
