Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

About the Role

As a Complex Needs Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high‑quality, personalised education to students with complex learning needs, including autism and challenging behaviours. You will be instrumental in shaping a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that promotes growth, engagement, and success for each young person.

Your Responsibilities
  • Plan, deliver and assess lessons tailored to individual student needs.
  • Develop and implement EHCPs and Behaviour Support Plans.
  • Collaborate with Learning Support Assistants, therapists, and care staff to ensure a consistent, multi‑professional approach.
  • Foster a safe, respectful and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Communicate regularly with families, carers, and external professionals.
  • Promote students’ social, emotional, and academic development in line with the School Development Plan and regulatory standards.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching students with SEND, particularly autism and/or SEMH
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills
  • A compassionate, empathetic, and student‑centred approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to adapt teaching to suit individual learning styles and EHCP targets
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
  • A full UK driving licence and access to transport is desirable due to the school's location.
