Job description
Overview

Community Midwife Band 6 – full and part time positions available. This is an exciting time for Maternity Services at GWH as we improve and develop towards Continuity of Care for women/birthing people in line with the Better Births agenda. We have opportunities for both experienced and newly appointed Band 6 midwives to join our community team. We are looking for midwives who have experience across all maternity areas, can demonstrate kindness and compassion, and are passionate about providing gold standard care to the families who choose to birth with us. We have a mix of full and part time vacancies with a variety of shifts and flexible working patterns. PREVIOUS APPLICANTS NEED NOT APPLY.

Responsibilities
  • Provide holistic midwifery care to women/birthing people and babies in the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods.
  • Deliver care across hospital, birth centre and community settings, including management of individual caseloads, clients and/or ward areas.
  • Deputise for the Band 7 in all clinical areas as required.
  • Work within a multi-dimensional role that integrates and fulfills all identified dimensions of care.
  • Contribute to the Trust's continuity of care vision and outcomes for families in the local community.

All posts include shift work (including night duty) and on-call duty. Shorter school days will be considered. An orientation programme and appropriate support are provided.
