A local community organization in Garelochhead is seeking a Community Development Worker to enhance community engagement and support various initiatives within three communities. The ideal candidate will be energetic and self-motivated, capable of communicating effectively with individuals of all ages. This role involves working collaboratively to fulfill community development objectives, requiring excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to fostering a positive environment. Initial contract is for 3 years, with an expected 20 hours of work per week.

The Finance Operations Lead, working collaboratively with other departments across The Faith Mission, plays a keyrole in supporting the delivery of the organisation’s vision by ensuring the effective and efficient managementof all financial operations and administration.

The Faith Mission is an unincorporated Scottish charity which also has a registration in the Republic of Ireland. Itwas founded in 1886 by John George Govan as a religious organisation for the purposes of evangelism andChristian ministry in the rural areas of the Great Britain and Ireland.

“To reach through passionate evangelism the lost of all age groups, particularly in the villages and rural areas ofGreat Britain and Ireland, and by biblical teaching to encourage holiness of heart and life in Christianpeople.”

This vision statement is worked out through three core ministries, as follows:

Biblical Training – The Faith Mission Bible College is a ministry of the Faith Mission and exists to train people fora variety of roles in Christian ministry and service.

Christian Literature – FM Bookshops is the literature ministry, which is positioned on the high street of many townsand cities in Northern Ireland and Scotland. It provides a neutral location where people can explore theChristian faith through literature or conversations in a relaxed café environment.

Role Description:

The Finance Operations Lead will implement and strengthen the charity’s financial strategy and management. Workingclosely with the leadership team, you will ensure excellent stewardship of the charity’s resources and overseefinancial operations across multiple entities (Bookshops, College and Mission Field).

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Experience of Sage 50 and Sage 50 payrollsoftware.
  • Strong experience in charity finance, including statutory reporting and fundaccounting.
  • Excellent computer skills – especially Excel, finance and payrollsoftware.
  • Experience of guiding and advising non-finance colleagues/stakeholders.
  • Proven abilityto lead small teams and manage multiple income streams.
  • Highly organised, efficient, responsible, withgood attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and flexible in approach, genuine dedication and the ability towork on own initiative.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborativeleadership style.
  • Right to Work in the UK and the ability to work in Faith Mission HQEdinburgh
  • Experience of working with Christian or other third sector organisations andvolunteers.

Essential Occupational Requirements:

  • A committed Christian, actively involved in a local church fellowship and fully supportive of The FaithMission’s Statement of Faith and the broader work and ministry of The Faith Mission. (This is an occupationalrequirement under the Equality Act 2010.)
  • The Finance Operations Lead will engage effectively withMission members, staff at all levels of responsibility, and external supporters. He or she will also be expectedto contribute positively to the spiritual life, fellowship, and overall vitality of The FaithMission.
  • The Finance Operations Lead will approach this role as a ministry calling—serving faithfullyfor the advancement of God’s Kingdom through the ongoing work and witness of The Faith Mission.

St John’s Church, Linlithgow, is looking for an organised and creative Admin & Communications Assistant tosupport the smooth running of our church life and help us communicate effectively with our congregation andlocal community.

Working closely with the Office & Operations Manager and the Services, Comms & Media Lead you will providepractical administrative and communications support. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys workingwith people, has good administrative skills, and is confident with digital tools and communicationplatforms.

Murray’s Initiative is also a recognised provider of professional development, offering a comprehensive trainingportfolio including education aimed at increasing awareness of alcohol use and promoting healthier lifestyles,COSCA Counselling Skills and a Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Murray’s Initiative deliver services over 6 days per week and throughout Glasgow, East Dunbartonshire and EastRenfrewshire, helping people make meaningful, positive change in their lives.

About the Role:

The Diploma in Integrative Counselling is 2-year course, credit rated at SCQF level 10 by the University of the Westof Scotland, and validation from COSCA. Murray’s Initiative is one of the founding COSCA members and adheres tothe COSCA ethical framework for good practice in counselling, psychotherapy and counselling skills. The courserequires lead tutors who are accredited by COSCA to Diploma level or committed to work towards accreditation.Tutors should be experienced Counsellors who are accredited with an appropriate professional body, or workingtowards accreditation (e.g., COSCA/BACP/UKCP).

The Lead Course Tutor will have responsibility for two Diploma Courses, leading on one weekly class and one weekendclass. The Lead Course Tutor will be expected to contribute to a Murray’s Initiative CPD calendar, writing anddelivering on content agreed with the Head of Diploma and Training. The Lead Course Tutor will support thedevelopment, implementation, delivery and evaluation of the Diploma in Integrative Counselling.

The Lead Tutor will report to the Head of Diploma and Training.
