Overview

We are working in partnership with a leading regional contractor with a strong track record of delivering high-quality commercial and residential developments across South Wales. The business delivers projects typically valued between £5m-£15m, including care homes, social housing, residential and commercial schemes. Due to sustained growth and future expansion, they are now seeking an experienced commercial professional to take full ownership of the company's commercial function.

The Role

As Head of Commercial, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across all commercial activities, playing a key role in shaping the future growth of the business. This position offers a clear pathway to Commercial Director as the company continues to expand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Full leadership and management of the commercial team
  • Overall responsibility for cost reporting, forecasting, and financial control
  • Leading contract negotiations and defining commercial strategy
  • Identification, mitigation, and management of commercial and contractual risk
  • Oversight of subcontract procurement and supply chain performance
  • Extensive client engagement and relationship management
  • Working closely with pre-construction and operational teams to provide commercial and contractual guidance
  • Recruitment and development of commercial staff
  • Active participation as a member of the Senior Leadership Team
