Job description
Overview

This role sits within the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) Commercial Directorate team. This team provides end-to-end procurement and innovative commercial solutions to deliver the FCDO’s priorities and the Government’s missions, whether that's through diplomatic and development programmes, or operating our global network.

In this role, you will be an integral part of the Commercial Directorate, leading the global facilities management category and a small team of up to three members, providing critical support to FCDO’s global operations. You will be involved in the following key areas:

Responsibilities
  • Facilities Management: This includes, but not limited to, hard and soft facilities management as well as total facilities management.
  • Other Facilities Management Services such as small and minor works, utilities, office supplies, and furniture.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference to Britain’s UK and overseas estate and to leverage the benefits of the new Procurement Act 2023 (PA23). With a category spend of approximately £300 million per annum, you will be directly involved in the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, which includes:

  • Developing category strategies.
  • Executing sourcing projects in line with organisational procurement policy and the PA23.
  • Leading or supporting contract management and supplier relationship management activities.

This role offers an opportunity to travel and to work with a diverse range of stakeholders across the FCDO’s global network and externally. These stakeholders include, but are not limited to, the Estates, Security and Network Directorate (ESND), Finance, regional and country directorates, Commercial hubs, directly with Missions, Cabinet Office, Crown Commercial Services (CCS) and HM Treasury.
