Job summary

A large, fast-paced organisation in Reading is seeking a Commercial Finance Analyst to join their high-performing finance team. Ideal candidates are part qualified or newly qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with strong Excel and financial modelling skills. You will manage month-end activities, oversee budgeting and forecasting, and support various operational areas. This hybrid role provides an opportunity for 1-2 years PQE accountants to drive financial performance and work closely with senior stakeholders.

Commercial Finance Analyst

Part Qualified / Newly Qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) Reading - Hybrid (2 days per week on-site)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Finance Analyst to join a high‑performing Commercial Finance team within a large, fast‑paced organisation. This role is perfect for an exam finalist or newly qualified accountant (1‑2 years PQE) looking to gain broad commercial exposure and work closely with senior stakeholders. You will play a key role in driving financial performance across multiple operational areas, providing high‑quality analysis, insight and support to help the business deliver on its strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Support financial management across Operations, Deployment, NTQ, IT & Security, Asset Management, Customer Experience, H&S and transformation programmes.
• Produce 5-year plans, reforecasts and detailed analysis for your business areas.
• Manage month‑end activities and ensure accurate accounting and reporting.
• Business partner with internal teams, suppliers and shareholders on budgets exceeding £240m.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, Opex/Capex tracking and contract financial management.
• Review/approve purchase orders, monitor balances and maintain strong financial controls.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and contribute to efficiency initiatives.
• Provide financial insight, decision support and ad‑hoc analysis to senior finance stakeholders.
• Support preparation of business plans, budgets and materials for shareholder reviews.
• Drive continuous improvement within processes and maintain professional development.
