Overview

A&P Tyne – CNC Plasma Operator/Burner

We are looking for a time-served tradesperson with previous CNC plasma and burning experience to support our production team in carrying out work on various projects, from repairs to construction, in the commercial and military sectors.

We have a pipeline of work to keep you busy for years ahead so if you have good attention to detail with a positive 'can do' attitude to work this is great opportunity to secure permanent work based on the Tyne.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC Plasma and oxy-fuel machinery to cut and shape sheet metal according to engineering specifications
• Set up tooling and adjust machine settings for various production runs
• Conduct regular maintenance checks on machinery to ensure optimal performance
• Operate quickie machines for cutting and edge preparation and grinding machines when required

Requirements

• You’ll have served your time in a relevant trade and will have used CNC profile cutting machines
• You’ll be experienced in using hand tools, grinders, and other manual equipment.
• This role requires stamina and the ability to work in varying weather conditions paying high attention to detail driven by a commitment to delivering to the highest quality. It will be noisy and sometimes hot, sometimes cold as we’re on the Tyne!
• You will need good steady hands and strong vision to focus on accuracy when cutting and measuring
• Willingness to take on new challenges with a passion for meeting and exceeding customer requirements efficiently with a focus on both quality and delivery
