Job description

Prestigious opportunity for a Senior Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer with a fast-growing UK-based Investment Management company. We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile professional to lead and support our technology infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on cybersecurity, cloud platforms, and application integration. This role is central to ensuring our systems are secure, resilient, and optimised to support a dynamic business environment. The successful candidate will possess broad technical experience across infrastructure and cloud services, and the ability to provide top-tier user support. This is based 3-4 days a week in the office in Manchester or London.

Responsibilities
  • Cloud Infrastructure & Services: Managing and optimising Microsoft Azure resources, including virtual machines, storage, and networking components.
  • Administering Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Intune).
  • Implementing and maintaining backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies in cloud environments.
  • Leading cloud migration projects and ensuring hybrid environments operate seamlessly.
  • Integration & Third-Party Applications: Designing and implementing integrations between internal systems and third-party SaaS applications using APIs, middleware, or iPaaS tools.
  • Collaborating with vendors to troubleshoot and support integrated solutions.
  • Evaluating and onboarding new tools that meet business needs and security/compliance requirements.
  • End User & Technical Support: Supporting complex technical issues escalated by end users.
  • Delivering high-quality support to users, ensuring minimal disruption and user satisfaction.
  • Developing user guides and training sessions to enhance digital literacy within the organisation.
  • Cybersecurity: Acting as the primary lead for cybersecurity practices across the organisation.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining security protocols, including firewalls and access controls.
  • Monitoring security alerts and responding to threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry cybersecurity standards.
Qualifications
  • Proven track record in an IT engineering or system administration role.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Azure cloud services and Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, tools, and best practices.
  • Solid background in Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP.
  • Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Entra / Azure Active Directory.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Familiarity with integrating APIs and working with SaaS platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, including Cloud.
  • Understanding of cloud-based telephony systems.
