Job description

Overview

The Clinical Training Facilitator role is to deliver a range of clinical learning and development interventions across the Secured and Specialist Services Care Delivery Pathway, helping to improve staff capability and compliance with mandatory and role specific training requirements. The post holder will work as part of the turnaround team, working with the Learning and Development and Professional Practice Education and Training (PPET) team to ensure the capability and quality of staff remains high, and colleagues remain up to date with their skills and competencies.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is required to work autonomously and alongside the Manual Handling, Resuscitation and Clinical Training Teams. They will deliver nationally mandated training that aligns with the Core Skills Training Framework and national guidelines such as Resuscitation Council UK. For role essential training they will use Trust specific content or have the responsibility for designing bespoke course content, its delivery, evaluating its effectiveness and achieving, attaining and maintaining training compliance. They will work closely with the Manual Handling, Resuscitation and clinical skills trainers to ensure consistency in training outcomes and the safety of equipment and its use by staff through audit.

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

• Current registration with NMC, or HCPC in an appropriate discipline (e.g. nurse, paramedic, ODP).
• Holds a minimum of an Immediate Life Support Course Provider qualification from the Resuscitation Council UK

Desirable

• Understanding of the NHS and key workforce challenges

Skills and Abilities

Essential

• Able to provide specialized, best practice advice in relation to managing a cardiac arrest, anaphylaxis, assessment and monitoring of a deteriorating patient, manual handling, advice on back care and other bespoke training.
