Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can access the support they need. There is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone.

We are there when it matters.

About us

At the Sue Ryder Duchess of Kent Hospice and community nursing services across Berkshire West, we look after people living with life-limiting conditions and offer support for families too.

About the role

Our Clinical Nurse Specialists play an essential role in providing high-quality, person centred care for individuals facing life-limiting illnesses. Their role extends beyond direct patient care to include education, leadership, and advocacy.

By combining clinical expertise, emotional intelligence, and leadership skills, they ensure that patients and families experience dignity, comfort, and peace during some of the most challenging times of their lives. Their role enhances the overall quality of palliative care and supports the healthcare team in delivering the best possible outcomes.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Palliative Care Nurse who wants to work in a supportive environment where care of the patients comes first.

Your main duties will be to provide direct assessment, support and advocacy to service users and carers dealing with complex, distressing and life-limiting illnesses.

Main duties of the job

In addition

You will manage your own caseload and provide expert care to service users, appropriate to their needs, wishes and culture.

You will collect, collate, evaluate and report information, maintaining accurate service user records.

About you

The successful applicant will play an active role within our team. Sue Ryder prides itself on giving our patients the best possible quality of life by providing a holistic and individualised service.
