Cover Cleaner / Mobile Cleaner

Must have a clean UK Driving Licence and access to a company pool vehicle.

Rate of Pay: £12.21 per hour

Contract: Permanent

Type of Employment: 25 hours per week

Shift: Monday to Sunday (weekends and mid‑week cover shifts)

Location: Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, Civic Offices, London Road, Basingstoke, Hampshire, England, RG214AH

Responsibilities

Develop a comprehensive understanding of your designated cleaning area, including optimal hours for cleaning tasks and the specific cleaning equipment and chemicals used on site. Maintain all cleaning public toilets, equipment, and areas in a clean, well‑maintained, and safe condition, adhering to Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Ensure equipment is kept clean, well‑maintained, and in safe working order, meeting all agreed SLAs.

The current role will involve five hours a day cleaning at one site, plus additional mobile cleaning hours at various public conveniences across Basingstoke and its surrounds.

Working Hours

Work set and flexible hours, which may be split from 5 to 8‑hour shifts. Monday to Sunday, including day shifts, some nights, and some weekends for coverage of absences. Availability for morning, daytime, or evening shifts is essential.

Training and Collaboration

Complete all necessary cleaning and operational training independently. Team collaboration is crucial, but you should also be comfortable working independently when needed.

Customer Service

Build strong, positive relationships with clients. Deliver outstanding customer service while actively looking for ways to improve and exceed expectations. Seek ways to continuously improve and exceed expectations.

Qualifications & Attributes

Basic English communication and reading skills. Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential. Flexible approach, open, honest, self‑driven, determined, reliable, hardworking, and professional attitude.
