Christmas is fast approaching — and at Steady Wheel Transport Ltd, we’re gearing up for our busiest and most exciting time of the year. From festive furniture deliveries to last-minute seasonal drop-offs, our teams help homes and businesses get ready for the holidays.

To keep everything moving smoothly, we’re now recruiting Christmas Temporary Drivers / Driver’s Assistants (AIT Contract) to join our operational teams across the festive period. ⭐ What You’ll Be Doing

As a Christmas Temp Driver / Driver’s Assistant, you’ll support our delivery operations during the peak holiday rush. Depending on the shift, you may be driving a company van or assisting a lead driver with deliveries.

You’ll help load, unload, lift, and position household items, appliances, and furniture — all while delivering excellent service and a bit of festive cheer to customers.

You’ll travel on planned AIT routes and play a key role in maintaining our reputation for reliability during the Christmas season.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive a company van or assist the lead driver on delivery routes across the North West and UK
• Load and unload household goods, furniture, and appliances
• Carry items safely into customer properties, ensuring careful handling at all times
• Contact customers 30–60 minutes before arrival using the approved script
• Update the Driver App and assist with proof of delivery
• Conduct basic vehicle checks and maintain a clean, organised van
• Represent Steady Wheel Transport with professionalism and a friendly attitude
• Follow all safety procedures, including manual handling guidelines

✔️ What We’re Looking For

• 18+ with the right to work in the UK
• A full UK driving licence (for Driver shifts)
• Basic or Enhanced DBS check required
• Physically fit and confident lifting up to 25kg
• Reliable, punctual, and confident working weekends and seasonal peak days
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Professional appearance and a positive, customer-focused approach
• Previous delivery or furniture-handling experience is a bonus, but not essential

• Hi-Vis vest or jacket
• Hard-cap safety boots
• A manual or electric screwdriver is also recommended for basic furniture assembly tasks.

A company van will be provided for all driving and delivery duties.
