A leading renewables firm is seeking a CHP Field Engineer / Technician to work from home covering the South East region. The role involves extensive electrical and mechanical maintenance and fault diagnosis to ensure optimal operation of generating assets. Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of electrical, heat, and mechanical maintenance.
  • Recognised level in an electrical skill or relevant experience.
  • Experience with electric control systems (12 V DC – 415 V AC, 30 kV).

Job description

We are looking for a CHP Field Engineer / Technician to work for a Renewables company based from home covering the South East region. This role is 40 hours per week.

Job Role
  • Day‑to‑day operations and maintenance including fault diagnosis, location and rectification.
  • Planned maintenance and breakdown response for generating assets with minimum outages.
  • Commitment to continuous enhancement of skills and knowledge.
  • Avoid unnecessary expenditure by using skills and tools available within the company.
  • Ensuring a stock of basic spare parts, as detailed by the Area Supervisor, is replenished and always available.
  • Commitment to Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental practices following all procedures and using your own judgement.
  • Reducing the company's reliance on contractors wherever this is economically prudent.
  • Compliance and implementation of company protection procedures with a proactive approach to maintaining, monitoring, reporting and auditing.
  • Managing your time and travel effectively, staying away from home when appropriate. Compliance with all legislation.
  • Seek guidance and advice from the Engineering and Management team in anything you are unsure of.
Knowledge / Experience
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of Electrical, Heat and Mechanical maintenance.
  • Recognised level in an Electrical skill or relevant experience in the field.
  • Experience with electric control systems (12 V DC – 415 V AC, 30 kV).
  • Fault location, diagnosis and rectification. Gassafe accreditation or ability to complete within probation.
  • Electrical qualification or ability to complete the 18th edition within probation.
  • Experience working with Natural Gas Peaker Plants, CHP, PV, Energy Storage, HVAC systems is advantageous.
  • Computer literate.
  • Hold full UK driver’s licence.
