CHP Engineer / Cogeneration Engineer

Due to continued growth, they are looking for 2 more Field Service Engineers to play a key role in supporting their client base nationally

The Role of CHP Engineer
  • Working on a variety of CHP systems - typically gas-powered engines - across industrial and commercial sites
  • Operating and monitoring CHP systems, including engines, generators, and heat recovery equipment
  • Performing routine and reactive maintenance
  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs
  • Logging performance data and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency
  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety and environmental standards
  • Liaising with contractors, OEMs, and site management
  • Supporting plant upgrades and performance reporting
The Right CHP Engineer
  • Experience in CHP, power generation, and maintenance
  • Technical background in mechanical or electrical engineering (NVQ, HNC, or equivalent)
  • Previous experience working with CHP units, gas engines, or similar power systems
  • Understanding of engine maintenance, generators, and heat recovery systems
  • Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and service documentation
  • Strong awareness of health & safety practices
  • Basic IT/data logging skills
Desirable but not essential
  • Experience with SCADA or BMS systems
  • CHP manufacturer training (e.g., MAN, Jenbacher, MTU, etc.)
  • 18th Edition electrical qualification or similar
