Overview

Our client, a brand new children's residential service, is looking for a passionate Registered Manager to lead their home with compassion, professionalism, and a trauma-informed approach. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong leadership experience in residential childcare, a commitment to nurturing care, and the ability to ensure the home exceeds all OFSTED standards. The successful candidate will oversee daily operations, support and develop staff, and champion the voice of the child in every decision. This role is perfect for a confident, reflective leader looking to make a meaningful difference in children's lives.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the children's home, ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality care.
  • Lead and support a team to deliver trauma-informed care aligned with PACE principles.
  • Ensure all statutory records, incident reporting, and SOPs are maintained to a robust standard.
  • Coordinate staff rotas, contingency planning, and on-call duties.
  • Conduct meaningful reflective supervision, identifying areas for staff support and implementing tailored development plans.
  • Oversee induction, training, and ongoing professional development for all staff members.
  • Monitor and maintain safeguarding procedures, legislation compliance, and OFSTED standards.
  • Support the setup of a new home, if required, and contribute to the continuous improvement of care practices.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare.
  • Ideally 2+ years' experience managing a children's home with a proven track record of good OFSTED outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care, PACE approach, safeguarding legislation, and children's home regulations.
  • Experience in setting up and running a children's home is advantageous.
  • Confident leadership skills, able to handle challenging situations and provide reflective supervision.
  • Willingness to complete OFSTED fit test.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Commitment to promoting the child's voice and providing nurturing, empowering care.
