Overview

The Vacancy

Permanent, Full-Time, Term-Time Plus 2 weeks. We are seeking to appoint a Chemistry Technician to assist with efficiently managing practical requests across Chemistry, providing technical support to Chemistry lessons and related activities and to support Lead Chemistry technician in ensuring the Health and Safety relating to practical Chemistry work and the Chemistry Prep areas is upheld.

The Chemistry Technician will work as a member of a team to provide a service which will ensure safe, effective and efficient use of resources to support the science curriculum. Although the post holder generally specialises in one science, there is a requirement to assist in other subject areas as reasonably required.

The position is line managed by the Lead Technician. The coordination of day-to-day responsibilities associated with this role is overseen by the Lead Chemistry Technician.

The salary range for this post will be Point 24-26 on the John Whitgift Foundation Support Staff Salary Scale. The full-time salary will be between £37,693 gross pay per annum (at Point 24) to £39,986 gross pay per annum (Point 26) depending on qualifications and relevant experience. The Pro-rata salary range for this post will be £31,604.13 gross pay per annum to £33,526.72 gross pay per annum to reflect Term Time plus 2 weeks.
