You will work closely with our Head Chef and wider catering team to deliver exceptional food service to patients, visitors, and staff, supporting our commitment to high standards of care, hygiene, and customer service.

Main duties of the job

As a valued member of our kitchen team, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the day-to-day running of the hospital kitchen, including food preparation and presentation.
  • Supporting the Head Chef in delivering creative and nutritious menus that meet a range of dietary requirements.
  • Ensuring food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly followed across all catering activities.
  • Helping manage stock levels and maintaining a clean, well-organised kitchen.
  • Working with the team to minimise waste, optimise portion control, and ensure cost-effective service delivery.
  • Supporting with staff supervision and stepping into leadership responsibilities when the Head Chef is absent.
  • Contributing to audits, health and safety compliance, and infection prevention procedures in the catering environment.

  • A positive, flexible attitude and excellent team-working skills
