Overview

Do you have vessel chartering experience, ideally out of gauge and looking for a 9-month contract role that could well be extended or even made permanent?

Our client, a specialist yacht shipping and logistics company based in Southampton, is looking to hire an experienced Vessel Operator to cover maternity leave.

The Role

As Vessel Charter Operator you will be responsible for liaising with shipowners, shipbrokers, overseas offices and port agents.

Responsibilities

• Knowing and understanding the different actors and intermediaries of the shipping industry
• Experience in dealing with and solving transport with Claims
• Experience in reading and understanding charter parties
• Experience with reading stowage plan
• Solid experience in demurrage calculations (based on our voyage charter party)
• Liaise with the client to gain technical details
• Liaise with technical team to arrange asset delivery to and from port
