Job Opportunity: Catering Manager - Cambridge

Are you a highly experienced, dedicated, and compassionate Catering Manager looking for a pivotal role in a prestigious educational setting?

A leading independent day and boarding school in the heart of Cambridge is seeking an exceptional Catering Manager to oversee and deliver outstanding catering and hospitality services across its three sites. You will lead a team of thirteen staff members and play a crucial role in providing nutritious and high-quality meals for students, staff, and events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, review, and deliver varied, seasonal, and nutritional menus, focusing on local produce.
  • Meticulously adhere to individual dietary requirements and allergy laws.
  • Manage, motivate, recruit, and develop a team of thirteen staff members (Chefs and Food Services Assistants) across all sites.
  • Implement strong cost control and budgetary management to ensure meals are within the set 'cost per meal' budget. Oversee effective stock ordering and maintain strong supplier relationships.
  • Ensure strict compliance with food hygiene, COSHH, and HACCP standards.
  • Deliver high-quality catering and hospitality for all school events, including parent events, fine dining, and meetings.
Essential Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing a professional kitchen.
  • Proven experience managing a catering team.
  • Relevant culinary/cookery qualification and a Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Demonstrated costing, budgetary skills, and menu design & development experience.
  • Aware of observing child protection safeguards at all times.
